First Love

hmm my first love...it's way back elementary days...haha yes, guys...i know, i'm too young to fall in love that time...we call it "puppy love"...hehehe

it crossed my mind b'coz of a song i just heard..entitled "first love"..and today is his birthday..Happy Birthday Friend!

First love, it feels good to fall in love that time..though we're so young..i knew that the feelings are true..we still have those innocent hearts..(hehe of course, these time around, i can't say i'm still innocent)...all those laughter, those happy memories..and even the quarrels for petty things..hehe

i'm not telling this because i'm still inlove with him..it's just that..those kind of memories, are worth remembering..and are still kept in my heart..(sweet??)hehe..i don't actually believe in "First Love never Dies"...because love dies, only memories remains...

everytime i recall those memories,..i can't help myself to laugh for all my craziness...my innocence..hehehe

Substance Abuse

Drug abuse is the use of any chemical substance, which results in an individual's physical, mental emtional, or social impairment. These include anxiety, depression, paranoia, psychosis, respiratory tract infections, nose and mouth ulcerations and other systematic diseases. Other diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Septicemia can also result from needle sharing among users of injection-type drugs. Cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer and lung disease can occur when drugs are used at high doses or after prolonged use, however, some may occur after just one use.

2 million people die premature deaths each year to alcohol and illicit drug use. These substance are responsible for about 9 percent of the total global burden of disease.

Warning signs of substance abuse:

- sudden change in their behavior - like wanting to be left alone, paranoia, change of sleep patterns, becoming easily irritated or secretive.

- physical changes such as dilated pupils, blood shot eyes, unsteady movements, weight loss and neglect of personal hygiene.

Going Easy on your Pancreas

Most people with acute pancreatitis recover completely. But even if you experience no lingering symptoms, it's important to take steps to keep your pancreas as healthy as possible:

* Avoid alcohol. If you can't voluntarily stop drinking alcohol, get treatment for alcoholism. Abstaining may or may not reduce your pain, but it will reduce your risk of dying of your disease.

*Eat smaller meals. The more you eat, the greater the amount of digestive juices your pancreas must produce. Instead of large meals, eat smaller, more frequent meals.

* Limit fat in your diet. This will help reduce loose and oily stools that result from a lack of pancreatic enzymes. A healthy diet emphasizes fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein sources.

* Follow a high-carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates give you energy to help fight fatigue. Try to get most of your daily calories from complex carbohydrates found in grains, vegetables and legumes.

If you have diabetes, a dietitian can help you plan a appropriate diet.

Smoking resulted in 4.9 million deaths in 2000. That number is expected to rise to 8.9 million by 2020.

Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including ammonia (floor/toilet cleaner), arsenic (rat poison), formaldehyde (body tissue preserver), hydrogen cyanide (gas chamber poison).
